Incredible music happening in the children's tent
I have always had a fabulous time at the NFF for the past 10 years. This year, the festival was way too crowded. Throngs and throngs of people trying to pass thru that narrow opening made me actually scared when we tried to venture to the Quad stage on Saturday. It took 25 minutes to walk from the Fort stage to the Quad! There were not enough port-a-jons this year. The lines were outrageous and the port-o-jons were filthy and ran out of paper and hand sanitizer early in the day. My sister and I ended up not seeing a lot of the acts that we wanted to see because we couldn't get near the stages. We managed to catch RJ Storm at the museum stage, a nice intimate addition, but when we left, the line was piling up for the next act. We discovered that some musicians were playing sets at the children's tent and we caught a few of those. The Berkley Music Choir was fabulous. We also left early on Saturday night, and we are glad we did when we heard the horror stories of people trying to leave the park in the torrential downpour. Another great year of music but too many people. The festival was sold out last year and it was not nearly as crowded. Perhaps opening up a second entrance and exit for the Quad stage could ease up the traffic flow.
